Supporting Local Sport, Oxton Women’s Cricket Team

We’re proud to have sponsored the Oxton Women’s Cricket Team this season-with the SeaKing logo taking pride of place on the front of their kit.

The team, made up of women and girls aged 13–30, has gone from strength to strength over the past two years under the leadership of captain Kirsten Shoesmith. Many of the players were completely new to cricket when they joined, and this year saw them re-enter the competitive Cheshire League while celebrating Oxton Cricket Club’s 150th anniversary.

The season ended on a high as eight players travelled to Spain to compete in the Granada Sixes Tournament, taking on teams from across the UK and Europe in a series of fast-paced, high-energy matches. The team came home with a well-earned trophy for Catch of the Tournament, along with plenty of memories and milestones.

It’s been inspiring to see the dedication, teamwork, and passion that this side brings to the game. We’re proud to play a small part in supporting women’s sport locally, and we can’t wait to see what next season brings!
