Shore power works completed in Málaga, Spain

SeaKing Group recently completed shore power upgrade works on a vessel in Málaga, supporting the removal of legacy equipment and installation of a new shore power converter system.
The scope of works included removal of existing steelwork and mounting structures, along with redundant power cabling from the original shore converter installation. SeaKing installed new high-capacity power cables to meet the requirements of the replacement converter, routing and securing cabling within restricted space conditions on board.
Works also included preparation and termination of all power cables into the new converter, followed by full continuity and connection testing from shore supply input through to the vessel switchboard.
SeaKing supported the shore converter OEM during commissioning and testing, including verification of control and interlock signals between the shore supply, switchboard and generator systems. Functional testing covered remote generator start and stop, circuit breaker operation and shore supply changeover.
Final testing included controlled transfer between ship and shore power, with successful changeover in both directions. The system was commissioned and handed over following completion of all tests.
